Surprise! I have been waiting (not very long at all) to announce that Blue Marble Storytellers – affiliated with Wolf Grove Media, who released the awesome Book of Choices anthologies – has a new anthology that was just released on November 30th! Titled Marbles, this is a wonderful collection of short stories written by some very talented people. I am honored and so genuinely happy to say that I have three stories appearing in these pages!
Marbles consists of only micro and flash fiction, which means all the stories come in at around one thousand words or less. More than 30 different authors contributed to this anthology and there are almost one hundred stories in its 350 pages. But what makes this book extra special is that a portion of the proceeds will go to the charity Doctors Without Borders. They are a great organization that does a lot of good across the globe.
The three stories I sent for this anthology are:
A Bugler’s Final Note – a story I crafted for my monthly writing group, it revolves around a famous naval battle and the origins of the phrase “don’t give up the ship.”
Allie – written for The Face Project and my wife’s favorite of the three I submitted, this is a little something about love and the mysteries of the universe.
Two – the other piece that The Face Project did not accept (the 3rd, Newborn, was accepted), this one started with a very simple idea of duality, but as I wrote I decided to leave a lot of ambiguity so the reader could decide what the truth is.
None of the authors are being paid for this book – this is strictly a chance to help a worthy cause. So please spread the word, buy a copy of Marbles, and leave a review to help us get noticed. Thank you!
